Here is a tribute to all of the Thanksgiving leftovers you will hopefully be consuming this weekend and into next week. I'm thankful my friend Dave allowed this on the internet. Hope everyone had a happy holiday and may this be the beginning of a safe and cheerful season for all!
I planted this tree when I was 8 years old. I remember the day received the little sapling, I think it was for Arbor Day from my Sunday School teacher. 20 years later it is still growing tall and strong!
I light of the holiday season, while traditions in my family have changed quite a bit over the past few years, I am thankful for these waves of change. The fact that we can grow and adjust while still getting along (for the most part) is pretty cool to watch. It’s inspiring to keep allowing this change to happen and go with it instead of fight against it. This Thanksgiving I am thankful for growing up. What are you thankful for? I've never been one to fall for superstitions and the idea that luck determines ones outcome. But I find that I entertain these thoughts on the regular, out of curiosity of the unknown. Because, really, you can't always explain why things work out the way they do. And also, why can't things turn out better than you expect?
So, my your day be filled with happy coincidences, serendipity and may you have 7 years good luck! Happy Friday the 13th everyone! |
